Abstract

We further discover that the key factor for the failure of the SFSCCs, which still also hinders the success of the SSSCCs, is lack of planning. From our theological reflection, in the third chapter, we are able to identify the kind of planning lacking to be pastoral planning. Moreover our theological reflection, helps us to discover, that despite some notable deficiency, the SSSCCs have shown themselves to be authentic Christian communities. The lay ministries and activities in SSSCCs are not only a challenge but also show how the local church of Mwanza is moving to a new model of "being Church.” We could therefore say that the SCCs, with the strong personal relationship between its members and their mutual aid, is a concrete sign of salvation here and now. The SCCs also have the chance to incarnate the members in the local culture and will hopefully strengthen such authentically traditional values such hospitality, sense of joy and celebration. Moreover, there is a reason to wish that SCCs shall evolve towards a more self-reliant church, born of its all members, and also a church which realises that it does not exist for itself but for the world, a church which is aware that it is sent by the Father as His Son was. Consequently, through the commitment of SCCs to justice and peace, to ecumenism and inter-religions dialogue the local church could become a sign of salvation in Tanzania and create the kind of communion that would also strengthen the nation. Among our recommendations, in the fourth chapter, we suggest that the Church as a "communion" should be the type of the church needed to promote the SCCs in the local church. Moreover "Team Ministry" should be the model of cooperation.
