Abstract

Inculturation and World Situation This thesis deals with an ethical aspect of inculturation. Inculturation, here, means a concrete insertion of the Christian vision of life into the cultural contexts of people - a vision which is based on the divine plan of salvation. The ultimate goal is t he transformation of human life and culture. Effective inculturation is required to address the situation in the world today. There is a growing awareness of cultural pluralism in every part of the world. Culture as human ways of living and being becomes the "catch-word" of today's society. The collapse of a totalitarian uniformist view and way of life shows up the richness of plurality and diversity. Who would have thought there would be the collapse of the communist system of the Soviet Union? On the political side, democracy and freedom are the very expression of thirst for pluralistic approaches to life.
