Abstract

The purpose of this study was to assess the style of coaching leadership, players’ satisfaction, and the correlation between the coaching leadership styles and players satisfaction in football, as well as to find out the preferred leadership style. The subjects of the study are (N=80) Addis Ababa city premier league football players. The study was conducted during the 2013inseason. To conduct the research a descriptive survey was employed. For this purpose, the study was conducted in Addis Ababa since; the preparation of the premier league players often takes place. Questionnaire, interview and observation were used to collect the data pertinent. The data obtained was analyzed using frequency counts, and percentage. The findings show that the autocratic type of coaching leadership behaviors was dominantly applied. It is suggested that players’ involvement in the decision making process should be taken in to consideration to improve the satisfaction of players.
