Abstract

Excitation function of (a, xn) ) reaction on Ir -191 (abundance 37.3%) and Ir -193 (abundance 62.7%) were studied for various energy range of alpha particle. The calculations were done using ALICE-91 computer code, which is based on Geometry Dependent Hybrid (GDH) model. Various parameters were changed to see the effect on the excitation functions. The calculated values were compared with experimental result obtained from available literature. This comparison gives the best-fit parameters viz pld, exciton number, etc. Further this confirms that at these energies compound nucleus theory does not satisfy experimental results. There is sufficient proof of pre-equilibrium decay of the system.
