Abstract

The aim of this review is to provide full knowledge about effect of obesity on cardio vascular system to the general population and to offer the greatest possibility for reducing the cardiovascular risk that accompanies obesity since obesity causes cardiac and vascular disease through well-known mediators such as hypertension, type II diabetes, and dyslipidemia as well as chronic inflammation and hyper coagulation. Obese individuals (BMI of 30 kg/m2 and above) are at increased risk for physical ailments such as:  High blood pressure, or hypertension  High blood cholesterol levels  Type 2 (non-insulin dependent) diabetes  Insulin resistance, or glucose intolerance  Coronary heart disease  Cardiac arrhythmias  Congestive heart failure  Stroke  ECG abnormalities  Obstructive sleep apnea  Venous disease
