Abstract

The challenges of finding effective and sustainable solutions to many social problems are substantial, and solutions may require many of the ingredients associated with successful business innovation. The broad objective of the study was to assess the effectiveness of social entrepreneurship intervention in addressing social problems among the rural communities in Kathiani district. A sample of 218 respondents composed 200 micro and medium scale rural entrepreneurs was drawn from the target population and 18 organizational and institutional staff constituted the sample of the study. Multi-stage random sampling and purposive were used as sampling techniques for the study. According to the findings of the study social entrepreneurship address social problem among the the rural communities. Majority of micro and medium scale rural entrepreneurs (70%) considers their business operation as addressing social problems like economic problems, environmental problem,health problem,education problem,unemployment. The study mainly recommends that all stakeholders should work in collaboration to enhance the effectiveness of social entrepreneurship in addressing social problems among the rural communities.
