Abstract

Information and communication technologies (ICTs) are a diverse set of technological tools and resources used for creating, storing, managing and communicating information. For educational purposes, ICTs can be used to support teaching and learning. This study was conducted with the aim of examining the effect of Information Technology on learning teaching process in AAiT. The main objective of this study is to assess availability, barriers and impact of ICT utilization in the context of higher education focusing on the case of AAiT Qualitative approach was utilized. Interview and personal observation was used in order to get the primary data. In the relation what both the students and instructors gain from using ICT? The study has shown that the use of ICT boosting the teaching and learning process with tremendous advantage. It has also shown the gap of usage, accessibility of materials and technological skill of users. From the study finding concluded that using ICT in education both students and teachers are benefited through different ways in teaching learning process. Misusing of ICT, shortage of ICT materials, lack of training in both side students and instructors, lack of awareness hinder the process. Recommendations have been made from research findings of this paper. Recommendations were forwarded on the need. Much has to be done on awareness creation towards the functions and aims of using ICT. Instructors and students should have get training for the proper usage of ICT.
