Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the major motivational factors among volunteers and assess the difference in motivation among volunteers with different socio-demographic characteristics. To achieve this objective data were collected from members of Rotaract clubs. Using multistage sampling procedure 226 samples selected. For this study, a two-part questionnaire, including Volunteer Functions Inventory (VFI) scale was administered to participants. Data analysis was done using descriptive statistics, t-test and analysis of variance (ANOVA). The finding shows that the major motives among participants were value, understanding and enhancement. In terms of motivational differences the finding shows that, difference in motivation exist between females and males on understanding and career dimension. Social and value dimension shows significant difference between young adults and adults. Among participant with different level of education social and enhancement dimension shows significant difference. There was also significant difference among participant with different service year on value dimension.
