Abstract
From the symphonies of Mozart to the masterpieces of Picasso, from the exquisite Chinese artistry to the celebrated African art, the owe-inspiring literature books, the breathtaking poetry, the dynamic dramas and the contemplation of the beauty of nature, people experience amusement, the sublime, sorrow, joy or owe. Often people do not simply experience emotions but they want to analyse and discuss these experiences. This is the starting-point of aesthetics. This philosophical position paper is on attempt at exploring the vast field of aesthetics and African sculptural art will be my object of discussion.
